The cottage bath is finished.
It’s not a makeover because it’s been a hodge podge since we moved in over a year ago…
I was stalled for several months searching for the perfect cabinet for towels. Once I found it, everything else fell into place.
Starting with the antler makeover. They just make me smile.
The interior of the cabinet (previously a horrible red color) got a little freshening with some chalk paint in French Linen.
Is there anything more fresh and cozy than a fluffy white towel? I think not.
I wanted a shower curtain that tied in with the black and white penny tile, but that would play nicely with all the neutrals.
This one from Pottery Barn did the trick. I’m a sucker for anything in ticking stripe and the ruffles are the cherry on top!
The cabinet is pretty and purposeful. My favorite combination!
The baskets are filled with loads of travel size toiletries, extra tp, a hairdryer, and washcloths.
It’s all ready to go.
Now we just need some visitors!

packing right now. i would teach you some photo tips in return.
it is so amazing susan. you have such great style.
Don’t tease me!!! For photo lessons, you could move on in!!!
Beautiful! I love the cottage style and I love the ticking fabric! Have to pin this one!

The transformation is darling. I especially love the curved shower ” ring” or pole.
It just seems to give the room a charming nostalgic look.
Thanks, Lenka…you come on down anytime!
My dream is to someday have a bathroom that would accommodate a pretty piece of furniture like your shelf cabinet. Lovely room; functional and simple. You pulled it together nicely
This may sound silly. But I am forever looking for perfect shaped and colored soap bars. Yours look really good in that jar. What type did you put in there?
Thanks
hi susan. i sent you an email after i posted this comment. for some reason it didn’t show up at first.
but now for my second question. i posted this at 12:54pm, do you know why it showing 6:54pm? i know we are on the same time zone, i live in chicago.
thanks,
Hi Stacia…I think the clock on my blog is wacky. As far as the soap…it’s a hodgepodge from TJ Maxx. They have really nice brands of pretty soaps near the fragrances/accessories for cheap! Hope that helps.
What a fabulous little cottage bath…….the cabinet is amazing! I love the ticking shower curtain too! Beautiful……

Hi Katie, thanks for stopping by! I got the baskets at Tuesday Morning about a year ago. Merry Christmas!
It’s beautiful! Great styling. The shower curtain is a nice mix to the penny tiles. This is inspiring me to do a refresh of our guest bath as I’ve intended to do for years. There’s oak in there. I’m tired of it. It can be painted!
Thanks, Deb! Oh yes…the magic of paint!
Thanks, Deb. Oh yes, paint is a magical thing!
