it’s the little things

I’ve been eyeing this pine writing desk at The Pink Geranium for a few weeks. I knew it would be perfect for the empty wall where the locker baskets used to reside.

While I loved the size and shape, that wooden knob was so ho-hum.

A tiny detail, I know. But sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big impact.

Hardware can change the entire look of a piece. It can dress it up, dress it down, bring it up to date, or even give it a more vintage vibe.

I chose a metal pull to give a nice contrast to the wood. It was under $5.

I drilled new holes. Because the pull would cover the center hole, the hole didn’t need to be filled. But if it had, here’s my process for filling holes.

Then added the new pull.

See what I mean? Such a small thing but with a big impact. It changed the look entirely and I love it now.

I’ll be back tomorrow to show you the full monty.

Happy Monday peeps.

Much better! I’m thinking I might need to replace the ho-hum knobs on my sons dresser now!
