pitter pat

For some it’s diamonds,

for others it’s shoes.

For me…it’s pine.

Nothing like some nekkid pine to make my heart go pitter pat.

The nekkider, the better. ;)

I have been searching high and low for a year for the right pine cabinet to hold towels in the cottage bathroom.

Totally Goldilocks-ing it.

Not too big, not too small, not too new, not too old.

And I didn’t want doors on it.

Last week I found it at The Pink Geranium.

It was juuuusssssttttt right!

Hello, gorgeous.

Sorry, in all my excitement I forgot to remove the sold tag.

See what I mean?

Pure Lusciousness.

Well, maybe not perfect

but give me a week or two. :)

Here’s the plan.

Top half…

Bottom half…

Since I found “the one” I need to get rid of what I was using in the mean time.

This was a Toronto garage sale find. Twenty bucks! I shared this in one of my very first blog posts a couple years ago.

Apparently I was very fond of the vignette effect on photos at the time. Yikes.

It’s served us well for almost four years now.

Time for a new home.

If you live in the northwest Chicago burbs and would like to take this off my hands, email me at mapleandmagnolia@gmail.com and it’s all yours.

CABINET IS SPOKEN FOR…THANKS! :)

I don’t know the exact measurements. It’s around 6 feet tall and about yea wide. Don’t make me measure…it’s over in the cottage, it’s dark and cold outside, and uh…it’s FREE.

It fit in the back of a station wagon with the seats folded down, if that helps.

What makes your heart go pitter pat?

Inquiring minds wanna know!

Oh to live by you…that’d make me happy so I could acquire your castoffs and maybe absorb some of your style. I’d say it would make my heart go pitter patter because that was your question, but then I’d sound all Creeper McCreepypants.

I’m Pining for a Secretary Desk….one with the scroll top and divided glass. Purely a want to have, not a need to have. Since I have no income, it will probably be a cold day in he-double – hockey – sticks before I get one. What kills me is that my mom had one when I was growing up. I played “secretary” at it all the time. The drop front dropped a bit too far, and if you laid a pencil down wrong, it would roll off. Oh, the memories! My sister moved back home with mom in her 30’s and got rid of it!! A few months later, I decided to ask mom if I could have it and found out it was gone! Another notch against my sister, but that’s a soap opera I won’t bore you with! Maybe someday I’ll get my secretary, I hold hope!!

You are so daggone funny! Nekkid! Loved the old one, but love the new more. Your plans sound terrific, and you know I will be stalking, er, waiting to see the results! Just bought the cow head from decorsteals and THAT has my heart pitter patting!

What you got rid of is pretty good too. Looks great the way you’ve staged it. I love to see people’s chachkies on their shelves. I always seem to love what everybody else has for treasures. Your new stand is incredible, I’m a pine person also.
I have a bookcase like stand in our bathroom to put towels and toiletries (in baskets) on as we have no linen closet. We have the stand under the window in our bathroom which i’m overjoyed to have. Love a window in my bathroom, I’m a nut for fresh air.
Hubs made the stand for me when we bought our place but it’s needing a paint job again. I made a burlap table runner for it that helps to give it some pretty on top anyway. Been contemplating making burlap curtains to cover all the “stuff” on the stand. .
