powder room after

Just in case you missed the before, here ya go.

So the goal was to update, lighten and brighten.

And keep it fresh and simple.

Planking the walls and ceiling…a must.

Didn’t really want a toilet shot but just to give you a view of the other side…

Don’t worry…shutters are coming. So we won’t be showin ourselves. 😉

I know I sound like a broken record…

but I love juxtaposition…

and playing with textures.

I think it creates balance.

Distressed vanity and rustic mirror play nicely with the sleek Carrara marble and glass sconces.

I found this watercolor by a local artist at Pink Geranium and had it reframed  (sniff…they closed the shop last month).

Here’s the barn board tile again.

I used it in every bathroom and the laundry room.

Can’t help it. :)

I feel presumptuous listing the sources…cause maybe you think it’s hideous.

But people usually email or comment asking for them, so this is easier.

Hand towels and soap dispenser- Target

Grapevine vase- Home Goods

TGIF.

Have a great weekend.

We are working on our bathrooms in our new (to us) Dutch colonial — what a coincidence! I was thinking of cladding the powder room’s walls somehow, so that it looks original to the house. My thoughts were picture frame molding + lots of it. Now I’m leaning toward planked walls! Genius!

Love it! Only wish my bathroom was big enough for a sumptuous vanity like this. And plank board just adds that touch of a little country. And your dark fixtures pop against the Carrara. Have never seen barn tile, but would like to know more about that. Your room is gorgeous!

I love your blog! The holidays of 2013/14 were really hard for me as I mourned a change in a close friendship. I happened upon the blog through pinterest and read it from the beginning like a book. My love of nest feathering and our similar style and values led this blog to really comfort, entertain, and inspire me. I know seasons change and you might be finished with blogging for a while or forever, but I wanted you to know what a huge blessing this blog was to me during a rough time. Bless you!
