stick a fork in it…

It’s done.

Well, pretty much.

There are a few tiny things switch plates, touch-ups, patching, etc. but for the most part the cottage reno is done.

Here is a super-old, right-after-we-moved-in photo of the room facing the kitchen of shame.

Those doors were hiding the U-G-L-Y.

I know.

This is the disgustingness that was here when we moved in

and I did my best to put lipstick on this pig.

But underneath that bright Mary Kay pucker was still a stinking squealing mess.

Time for the pros to do their thing.

Hello, beautiful….

The little entryway…which will be getting a wall sconce.

to the right is the bathroom, but it’s full of stuff so I will show pics later.

The bedroom

The living area.

I wish the photos would capture the true color of the floors. It’s really pretty.

I’m so happy with the results.

There’s nothing like having a vision, then once it’s implemented…it’s even better than you imagined it.

I’m tickled with the whole thing.

Today we are moving into the cottage so that the reno can begin on the main house on Monday.

Thank you for your encouraging comments and emails and for not getting bored with these reno posts.

You guys rock.

Enjoy your weekend!

All I can say is…wow. I do have to hand it to you…when you tried to cover the before ugliness, you did a good job with what you had to work with. But these after photos are so sweet, amazing, lovely…you name it. I love the “cottage” look!

This is absolutely marvelous!! I wish I had a cottage in the back yard! How many square feet are in your cottage? It looks so big on the inside but I have seen photos on the outside which make it look smaller. It looks quite roomy now. Love all the white.

Really amazing! I remember when you put that lipstick on that pig. I thought you were brilliant with what you accomplished. Now that being said….very impressive!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with the main house.

So pretty….I love the floors too! Since you are abandoning ship I’m thinking the remodel must be pretty extensive. What all are you doing? How long will you be uprooted?

Was the original sink cast iron —- is so, I would have kept it as I love that sink. If plastic, I would have pitched it too.
